Kal Chatti or Soapstone Jar | Jadi is an excellent stone utensil used by our ancestors to store and preserve the Curd, pickles, Salt, Coffee- Tea and spice powders. This Soapstone Kitchenware is traditionally hand-carved to perfection by the experts who have been making this for decades.
In North Tamil Nadu, soapstone has been used for centuries to create carvings and figures, and now, our artisans use the same techniques to create these beautiful cooking implements. Not to be confused with stoneware, which is a kind of clay fired at high temperature, these soapstone pots, or Makal Chatti, are actually handcrafted from a single block of natural, non-toxic soap stone which allows them to withstand high temperatures and keep the food hot for a very long time. The beautiful stone also makes for a stunning and exotic presentation
Besides, it is also rich in magnesium, a vital mineral that is obtained from foods like legumes, pumpkin seeds, tofu, whole grains and dark chocolate.
Magnesium deficiency can result in frequent muscle twitches or cramps, fatigue, high blood pressure and osteoporosis among others, and eventually cause diabetes, acid reflux or kidney stones.
